Asin meets ‘Avatar’ James Cameron

Hollywood big shot ‘Avatar’ director James Cameron was in New Delhi last week to attend “India Today Conclave 2010” on the theme ‘New Decade: Great Expectations’ organized by The India Today Group.

At the conclave Asin was also invited to speak at the youth forum about the theme of Reality Vs Idealism in movies in front of James Cameroon. Our Asin pulled it off with grace and confidence. Asin spoke on how the youth can break free and think out of the box to bring change in movies.

Asin also said “Change, according to me, is not just brought about by the youth, but by anyone. She said it may not be a revolution, but just a small change” and went on to cite a personal example to elucidate this f urther. “I was born into a traditional and orthodox Kerala Catholic family and I should have been named after my grandmother. But my parents thought out of the box, and named me Asin, which means without sin,” she says. To live up to this name is what she strives for everyday.” Read more….

South Indian actress Asin witnessed an overnight success with her Bollywood debut Ghajini. Indeed, the actress won more laurels for her stunningperformance. But with the unexpected flop of London Dreams, she is literally despaired running out of offers now.

It’s worth mentioning that her father had refused most of the offers extended by South Indian filmmakers, since Asin had more probabilities to sign more projects in B-town. But now, brimmed with more disappointments, the actress has started looking out for South offers. Regrettably, the projects she refused have already kick-started with other actresses. Read more…

Shah Rukh Khan rescues Asin

The occasion was a Mumbai event, where about 300 persons, posing themselves as her fans, tried to get too close to Asin for comfort.

Shah Rukh, on seeing the damsel in distress, sent his security guards to save Asin from the mob. After a few anxious moments, the actress was able to wriggle out from the crowd.

With a single film, Aamir Khan’s ‘Ghajini’, Asin has become very popular in the North. It seems, she will need the services of security personnel for her travels in the North in future. Read more…
