Fox Star brings Rohan Sippy and Abhishek Bachchan in Dum Maaro Dum

Each Hollywood Studio’s project has been keenly watched by the entire film industry. Much feared, few have tasted success in a big way. Fox Star Studios, a JV between Newscorps’ Twentieth Century Fox and Star Network recently released their first Bollywood film, My Name is Khan across 43 countries and have met with much success. Following, Slumdog Millionaire and of course Avatar, – their next film is with Rohan Sippy Entertainment for their latest project Dum Maaro Dum produced by Ramesh Sippy and directed by Rohan Sippy.

The movie is an exciting action packed thriller which races through the bylanes, beach shacks and raves of India’s largest tourist destination, Goa. reunites Rohan Sippy and Abhishek Bachchan after Bluffmaster which was a success. The film also stars Bipasha Basu, Aditya Panscholi and Pratiek Babbar and also provides a platform to Rana Dagubatti who is a well known star in Andhra Pradesh and will be making his Hindi film debut with Dum Maaro Dum. Abhishek Bachchan washed dishes at Golden Temple

Abhishek Bachchan, one of the most sought after stars in Bollywood, washed dishes at the Golden Temple in Amritsar as part of his kar seva.

The actor was in Amritsar with his sister Shweta Nanda. They visited three prominent gurdwaras.

“Abhishek did some kar seva by cleaning up the premise, and washing the dishes at the ‘langar’ (in the Golden Temple). There were two other prominent gurdwaras that they visited,” Amitabh posted on his blog bigb.bigadda.com Thursday.

The 67-year-old, whose mother Teji Bachhcan belonged to a Sikh family, is happy to see the religious side of his children.

“It is always such a joy to see children putting their minds to faith and devotion. Nothing would give me greater joy and nothing I believe could be better than their achievement in belief and prayer,” he added. Read more…

Disappointed over the false report on his wife Aishwarya Bachchan by Mumbai Mirror, Abhishek Bachchan has dumped the paper. He tweeted this morning that he has stopped taking the newspaper.

“Best part of the morning was sitting with the girls, sipping hot coffee and reading the papers. Best part? NO MUMBAI MIRROR!!” he wrote on his twitter page. “Realised that we have the ultimate power. The power of choice! I choose NOT to buy or read trash!!!” he added. Read more…

Abhishek ko gussa kyun aata hai?

Abhishek Bachchan today lashed out at a local news paper for publishing a report which said that his wife, Aishwarya, had been trying to conceive but was unable to owing to Stomach Tuberculosis. The report said the star couple had to postpone their plans for a child till she completed her treatment for the same.

The newspaper report said, “According to a close family friend, though outwardly the family may have taken the when-it-happens-it-will-happen stand, but within, there’s a very ardent desire to have an heir for the family as soon as possible”.

Using social networking site Twitter, Abhishek Bachchan slammed the newspaper and tweeted “The article is disgusting and appalling! As a husband and a man I am shocked that one can talk so irresponsibly about a woman.”

The actor also said that he will not take stuff like this especially against the ladies of his family. He also tweets, I have immense respect for the media. They are the opinion makers of a nation, our conscience. THEY MUST BE RESPONSIBLE!!!”

Junior B felt that “apart from the fact that they have written so irresponsibly about a woman let alone my wife. My issue is when will all this kind of journalism end?” Read more…

Ash visits Abhishek's grandmother despite illness

For Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai, her relationships seem to score over everything – so much so that even though she was unwell, she travelled to Bhopal to celebrate the 80th birthday of her husband Abhishek Bachchan’s maternal grandmother.

According to a source close to Aishwarya, this was a commitment the couple had made to Abhishek’s ‘nani’ (maternal grandmother) a while ago. And despite the high fever and sore throat that she has been suffering from since a few days, Aishwarya made sure she was there to fulfil her promise.

“Aishwarya is much much better, but still not 100 percent (fine). But she’s my nani’s favourite so she made the trip too. Should be back to fighting fit… in a day or two,” Abhishek posted on social networking site Twitter.

The actor says his grandmother’s expression on seeing both of them was “priceless”.

“Made a surprise trip to Bhopal last night (Monday). Was my nani’s 80th birthday! Her expression was priceless. All her grandchildren flew in from all over. My sister, our cousins all meeting after so long. Now everyone partaking in an old Indian habit, all sitting together… Eating, drinking and catching up! Read more…

Abhishek speaks on his 34th birthda

Abhishek who turns 34 on today doesn’t feel his age at all. “Am I really 34? I feel I’m 23. That’s the age that I came into movies. I feel the same anxiety and excitement facing the camera this birthday for Abhinay Deo’s film as I did for J.P Dutta saab on my 23rd birthday.” The year begins with the shooting of Abhinay Deo’s film and ends with Prabhu Deva‘s film, a first for Abhishek since it would be his first full-fledged action flick.

“I’ve done action films like Zameen, Dhoom and Run. But nothing like what Prabhu has planned for me,” says Abhishek excitedly. “Yeah it’s a wonderful year. And I better make sure I don’t let my family myself and my audience down.”

This has got to be Abhishek Bachchan’s busiest year ever. He’s just wrapped up Mani Ratnam‘s Raavan and is in the process of wrapping up Ashutosh Gowariker’s Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se. He’s now shooting for Abhinay Deo’s film tentatively titled Crooked. Abhishek then jumps to Tarun Mansukhani’s Dostana 2, followed by films with Rohan Sippy’s, Abbas-Mustan, Anees Bazmee, Neeraj Pathak and Prabhu Deva…all to be released, shot or completed before the year is through.
