The suspense over the title of Aamir Khan’s next film, which is a suspense thriller, continues. The actor cannot understand why everyone has started calling it Dhuan.

Says a source, “Aamir is upset that several people, including the cast and crew of the film, are referring to it by that title. A few crew members recently referred to the film as Dhuan since media has started calling it that. Aamir immediately sent out a text to everyone working on the film saying, ‘Dhuan is not the title of our film, please don’t refer to it by this name.’ He, along with the producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, are still looking for an apt title. Apparently they have zeroed in on three options and are approaching those who have thr rights to those titles. The team has been instructed to finalise a title in a month’s time.” Read More…

According to sources, the perfect dad had gone and booked a hall for the film of Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ The Lightning Thief’. A college dropout, a filmmaker who sold his script for Terminator for one dollar on the condition that he direct it, and then went on to give us blockbusters like Titanic and Avatar, James Cameron wowed actor and director Aamir Khan alongwith everyone in the audience at The India Today Conclave 2010, whose theme was ‘New Decade: Great Expectations’ on March 13.

Held at The Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi, the session was chaired by editor in chief of the India Todaymagazine, Aroon Purie. The event was attended by the creme de la creme of society, all eager to hear what the two trend setting filmmakers had to say about The Future of Cinema.

Lovely ladies dressed in expensive silks, leaving behind trails of expensive perfume, perfectly turned out gentlemen, and the delicate clink of wine glasses were everywhere you turned.

Aamir Khan is surely making his way to Hollywood. Even though Slumdog Millionaire did not appeal to him, he met director Danny Boyleand is now working in his project Bombay Velvet, to be directed by Anurag Kashyap.

And now it’s time for Aamir to meet Avatar director James Cameron. The two stalwarts will catch up at a seminar in Delhi, on March 13, 2010. They will talk about the changing environment of filmmaking.

Aamir Khan has been reportedly working hard for his big meeting with the Hollywood director, looking at his films and preparing a questionnaire for him. Aamir's Peepli Live to release in Germany

Following its successful European premiere at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival, Aamir Khan produced Peepli Live will be released in Germany alongwith India.

Mumbai-based UTV pictures, which has the distribution rights of the Anusha Rizvi directed movie, has reached a deal with the Cologne-based Rapid Eyes Movies for the release here with German sub-titles in August. The German company has also bought the home video rights for the film.

“Simultaneous to its Indian release, Peepli Live will also be released in Germany. The film could not be released in India earlier as we had to rush for the Sundance Film Festival,” Rizvi said. Read more…

Aamir Khan withdraws resignation from Copyright panel

Aamir Khan has withdrawn his resignation from the Copyright panel on Friday.

The actor resigned from the 10-member committee set up by HRD Minister Kapil Sibal to review the proposed amendments in Copyright Act following differences with some members.

The actor resigned after he reportedly had heated exchanges with lyricist Javed Akhtar and others over the issue of royalties in a meeting between producers and writers. Read more…
