On Day 2 of LFW’10 Mumbai, Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi walked the ramp for ace designer Digvijay Singh. Digvijay Singh is synonymous with quality and style. His brand Bhusattva is a collection styled in 100% organic cotton and silk fabrics. Like last year, even this time the designer came up with an eco-friendly show.
Vivek Oberoi was seen in a beige dhoti-kurta and carried the traditional Indian look with élan. It was a pleasant change to see Vivek on the ramp after a really long time. The last time he walked the ramp was for Lycra Images Fashion Awards in 2008. Though Vivek is not typical model material, he made up for it with a dazzling smile and loads of confidence. With a down-to-earth demeanour and hair-locks falling on his forehead, Vivek brought back the Saathiya charm.
Vivek’s mother and sister were there at the event to cheer for him. When asked about her son’s ramp performance, Yashodhara Oberoi said, “My son is best at whatever he does. He has done a modeling in his Mithibai (college) days. So this is nothing new for him. I was pretty sure that he would pull it off well.”
On the contrary Vivek explains his pre-event jitters saying, “I didn’t just have butterflies in my stomach but also elephants and jumbos running helter-skelter. I had heard so much about wardrobe malfunction that I had this constant fear of what if my chappal goes off, what if my nada (pajama string) gives away. Thankfully everything went quite fine”.
