It was a happy birthday yesterday to Danish delight Deepika Padukone who is now 24 years old. She will be spending the day mostly working on the promotion for her movie Karthik Calling Karthik in Mumbai with Farhan Akhtar – and later she will be returning to Goa to shoot for Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se. However, she will be taking some time out to fulfil a tradition. “Since childhood, I have always gone to the Ganpati temple on my birthday,” she says, “Today I will go to the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai.”
Deepika has a sweet tooth and a strong opinion of the type of birthday cake she deserves. “Chocolate, chocolate and chocolate!” she exclaims, “I get angry when people serve strawberry or pineapple cakes for dessert.”
Deepika was recently invited to a special screening of 3 Idiots held for IIM Bangalore students where the movie was shot and liked it very much. Referring to her father, badminton star Prakash Padukone, she said, “Dad would always tell my sister and me that we should choose a profession we loved passionately.
