The Delhi High Court on Monday issued notices to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, director Anil Sharma and producer Vijay Kumar Galani of the recently released Hindi film ‘Veer’ on a suit by a Gurgaon-based author seeking a permanent injunction against screening of the movie and damages for allegedly using the concept of his book “Trilogy of Wisdom”.
The plaintiff has made Salman Khan a respondent in the suit. Besides acting in the film, Salman has also written the script.
Issuing the notices, Justice V. K. Shali asked the respondents to file replies to the suit by February 4.
The author, Pavan Chaudhary, accused the respondents of lifting the idea that “India should not be a ‘sone ki chidiya’ but a ‘baaz’ conceptualised in the book in violation his copyright over it. Read more…
