Diwali is a festival of lights, fireworks, sweets and gambling. Often people bond over gambling after the Laxmi Puja on the Diwali night, a custom which has been practiced since the era of rajas and maharajas. Bollywood too has been generously gambling on the eve of Diwali every year.
For Bollywood producers, Diwali is always considered to be one of the most lucrative periods for the release of their films. The schools and colleges have vacation.
